Construction Supervision
Setting-out checks, quantity verification, quality control and stage-wise reporting on works executed by others.
What we do
Six core disciplines and a set of specialist works that support them. Each one is set out below with the scope, the method and the estimator that will give you an indicative budget for it.
01 Core service
Anti-erosion works designed for a braided, sediment-heavy river cutting through soft alluvium. The governing idea is launching: the bed will scour, so the toe protection is built to roll down into the scour hole and armour it, instead of standing rigid until it is undermined.
Work begins by cutting the bank back to a designed slope and laying a non-woven geotextile filter with proper overlap, so that fines cannot migrate out from behind the armour. Sand-filled geo-bags are then placed to the designed thickness on the slope and in an apron at the toe, sized against the anticipated scour depth. Where stone is economically available, boulder pitching is used in the same arrangement.

02 Core service
The connectivity works that decide whether a village can reach a market, a school or a hospital in the wet season. Village link roads, approach roads, culverts, causeways and small community buildings — modest individually, decisive collectively.
On alluvial ground the subgrade is the whole battle. We prepare and compact it properly, lay granular sub-base and macadam to profile, and size cross-drainage for the monsoon flow rather than the dry-season trickle, because an under-sized culvert takes the road with it the first time it surcharges.
03 Core service
General civil construction executed to drawing and specification: reinforced concrete structures, foundations, retaining walls, drainage and site development. The work is checked stage by stage — levels and cover before a pour, cube results after it — and the records are handed over with the structure.
We also provide construction supervision on behalf of clients whose works are being executed by others, covering setting-out checks, quantity verification, quality control and stage-wise reporting.

04 Core service
Embankments, levees and flood-control bunds built to a designed trapezoidal section. The quality of a bund is decided by two things that cannot be seen once it is finished: the preparation of the foundation and the compaction of each layer of fill. We benchmark both, and we record them.
Work includes new embankment construction, raising and strengthening of existing sections, breach closure, and slope protection by turfing or pitching so that the section survives the first high water it meets.
05 Core service
Bulk cut and fill, formation levels, channel desilting and borrow-pit management. Earthwork is where most infrastructure budgets are won or lost, because the quantity is large, the rate is sensitive to soil classification, and once it is covered up nobody can check it.
We measure in bank volume, price against the soil actually encountered, and account separately for bulking, haulage lead and disposal — the three things that quietly double an earthwork bill when they are left out of the estimate.

06 Core service
Bio-engineering used alongside hard protection rather than instead of it. Bamboo piling, porcupine screens, turfing and vegetative cover induce siltation, bind the upper bank and keep working long after the contractor has demobilised — at a fraction of the embodied cost of concrete.
It also keeps money in the district. Bamboo, sand and labour are sourced locally wherever the specification allows, which shortens the haulage lead, lowers the carbon cost of the works and puts the wage bill into the villages that live behind the bank.
07 Specialist works
Packages we take on within a larger scheme, or as standalone contracts where another agency holds the main works.

E / 02
Filling, stitching and placing of geotextile bags to the designed thickness, in bond, on slope and apron.

Driven bamboo piles and crated bamboo structures for toe support and silt induction in shallow channels.

Foundations, columns, beams, slabs and retaining structures with stage-wise quality checks and cube testing.

Hume-pipe and box culverts, causeways, side and toe drains, sized for monsoon flow rather than average flow.
