Brahmaputra Riverbank Restoration

A scoured reach of the Brahmaputra system where the toe had been undercut and the bank was failing in blocks. The bank was cut back to a stable designed slope, a non-woven geotextile filter laid with full overlap, and a sand-filled geo-bag revetment placed on the slope with a launching apron at the toe sized against the anticipated scour.

The apron is the part that matters. It is built to fall — as the bed scours, the bags roll down and armour the hole instead of leaving the revetment hanging.

Rural Connectivity Road, Phase II

A village link road carried across soft alluvial ground that had defeated earlier surfacing. The subgrade was prepared and compacted to specification before anything was laid on it, then granular sub-base and macadam brought up to profile in rolled layers.

Cross-drainage was set out for monsoon flow rather than average flow, and the side drains were cut and lined before the formation was closed — the two decisions that usually determine whether a rural road survives its first wet season.

Majuli Flood Embankment Project

Embankment works on the world’s largest river island, where the channel moves and the working window is short. The foundation was cleared and benched, borrow managed on site to keep the haulage lead down, and fill placed in layers, watered and compacted rather than simply tipped and dozed.

Both slopes were trimmed to section and turfed before the season turned, so the new surface had root cover in place when the first high water arrived.
